Watch how it works
Talk, listen, turn into chapters.
For yourself
Your story, written by your voice.
Talk to Guida, your biographer. A real biography grows, chapter by chapter, in your own words.
How it works
How a real biography takes shape, in your own words.

Choose how
- Text, voice, or video. For you and for Guida.
- Continue a conversation, the question of the day, speak freely, from a photo, or browse themes.
- Set who reads it: only you, your circle, the people you trust, or everyone.

Have the conversation
- Talk, type, send a photo, share a video. Guida adapts.
- Don't like the first question? Ask another. Edit any answer afterwards.
- Autosaved as you go. Come back tomorrow, in a week, in a year.
- When you're ready, click Generate. A real chapter is written.

Your biography grows
- Each conversation becomes a chapter, with photos and Guida's audio.
- Listen back, read the original conversation, edit anything, anytime.
- Chapters stay open. Add a photo, rewrite a passage, years from now.

Your book takes shape
- All your chapters, bound. Read them in order, like a real book.
- Pick a cover. Name the book. See it come together as you go.
- Order a hardcover when the time is right.

Share when you're ready
- Share a single chapter or the whole book, with anyone you choose.
- Read stories from someone's circle, or from the public.
- Read in your language. Other languages coming soon.

A printed book
- Order a real hardcover when the time is right.
- Three editions, three price points. From a discreet softcover to a Heritage hardcover.
- Yours forever. Theirs forever.

Chapter Seven
The summer I learned to listen
Chapter Seven
The summer I learned to listen
It was the year I stopped trying to fill the silences. My grandmother lived in a small house at the edge of the village, and every August I would come to stay for two weeks. The kitchen smelled of beeswax and warm bread.
She rarely spoke first. I learned to wait. The stories came when they came, often in the middle of an unrelated task, peeling apples, mending a sleeve, walking back from the chickens. Each one a small door I had not known was there.
Years later, when I started to tell my own stories, I heard her in the pauses. The shape of how to listen was the shape of how to speak.

Why Memoira exists
I lost both my parents before I could ask them who they really were. I looked for a trustworthy place to save and share memories, and didn't find one.
So I built Memoira alone. Privacy was part of the product from day one, not a marketing claim added later.

Frequently Asked Questions
You have a conversation with Guida by voice, video, or text. She asks thoughtful questions and follows your lead. You can review, re-record, or edit your responses at any time. When you are done, your words are automatically transformed into a polished written chapter.
Yes. Memoira is in early access: everything is free, no credit card, no commitment. You can talk with Guida, write your first chapters, invite your circle. If it's not for you, you stop whenever and export everything you've written.
Not at all. Just press record and talk naturally, like having a conversation with a friend. Prefer typing? You can do that too. You can also re-record or edit anything before it's sent. Guida handles everything else.
Memoira is completely free during early access: no credit card required, no time limit, all features included. We'll introduce affordable plans later, but early access users will always get a special deal. You'll never lose access to the stories you've already created.
Anyone with stories worth keeping. You don't need to be a senior, a grandparent, or at any particular point in life. People in their thirties record childhood before their parents fade; people in their seventies record decades they alone remember. What matters is that something feels worth telling now, before it blurs.
Four moments where Memoira fits especially well. When a parent is starting to lose their memory: sessions go at their pace, an afternoon at a time, before another month passes. When family is spread across countries: one storyteller stays canonical while several siblings each contribute the version they remember, no perspective erased. When someone is no longer here, or won't be soon: a designated successor inherits the story, Memorial Mode finalizes the book and respects the chapters that were kept private. When a history is fragmented by adoption, blended families, or kept secrets: several contributors can each bring a thread, the owner's version stays the spine and the rest enriches it. If you don't see your situation here, that doesn't mean Memoira isn't for you. It means you're using it the way most people will, to keep stories that would otherwise be lost. When isn't Memoira the right tool? If you want the safest conventional gift in English with years of operation behind it, an established weekly-question service will probably feel less risky. If you want voice playback embedded in the printed book itself (QR codes inside the pages), another tool ships that and we don't. If you have several thousand euros and a year ahead of you, hiring a human professional biographer will produce a deeper artifact than any software, ours included. Honest is honest.
Speak while they still can. Memoira lets someone tell their story at their own pace, in short sessions, across weeks or months, not a single interview they have to carry alone. Photos help unlock memories. If a session gets hard, you save and come back later. And when they can no longer talk, Memorial Mode means what they did record stays with your family, forever.
Yes, with care. Guida is a kind witness, not a therapist. She listens and turns your words into chapters, she doesn't give advice. Some people find it helps to say hard things out loud, with the option to pause and come back. Others prefer to wait. Only you know which. Private chapters mean what you share stays yours, until you decide otherwise. If you're in crisis, please also reach out to someone trained to help.
Your stories are private by default: only you can see them. You decide who to invite and what they can do. Contributors can add memories, suggest edits, and upload photos. Readers can read, comment, and react. Only you can interview, edit chapters, manage access, and change visibility. The original conversation, audio, and video are only accessible to you. Nobody sees drafts except you.
Yes. Your data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS), hosted on European servers under GDPR protection. We will never read your stories, sell your data, or use it to train AI models. You can export all your data or delete your account at any time. If Memoira ever shuts down, you'll get 90 days notice and a full data export. Learn more on our Security page.
Yes, you have full control. You can edit any chapter's title, content, and summary. If you delete a chapter, it goes to a 30-day trash: you can restore it anytime within that window. You can also export your entire story as a beautifully formatted PDF book, download all your data, or delete your account whenever you wish.
You can choose one or two successors from your story's circle in your story settings, and they'll be notified right away. If you pass away, your successor can activate Memorial Mode by confirming your name. New interviews stop, your successor takes over management, and everyone in your circle keeps read-only access to all stories, photos, and recordings. Everything can be exported or printed as a book at any time.
Guida is named after the founder's mother. In a product built to preserve family stories, it felt right to have them guided by a mother's spirit. You can customize how she speaks with you: choose between warm, casual, or professional tone in Settings.
